Today was the BIG day! It was perfect...absolutely
perfect...from the weather to her attitude. Before I share pics from today, let me rewind to yesterday.
Yesterday was the Mercedes Mararthon in Birmingham, and 2 of her biggest fans were in it.
We are proud of you and glad we were able to cheer you on!!!
In an earlier post, I shared
this about the t-shirts Julia was selling to benefit Mom. God is soooo good and has continued to provide for her every need. She was overwhelmed with emotions as Julia showed her, her t-shirt and listened of how many people purchased one. Here are a few pics from their visit...
all those tears fogged up her glasses :)
We are all soooo humbled by your support! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
DRUMROLL please......now on to today...
Lucky Socks....check!
Pink balloons to decorate the chair...check!
Beautiful day for her last treatment...check!
It was such a beautiful day today. The Lord was really smiling on her, blessing her with a "good" day. It was such a bittersweet day. As we made our way, parading around the hospital, we saw her favorite nurses that helped her along the way. They were a Godsend, and she couldn't have been in better hands. They will forever have a special place in our hearts. It also brought memories back of, not so long ago, when she was in such tremendous pain and just beginning her 1st treatment. As we were all eagerly and excitedly waiting in the lobby for her to get called back, a lady came in a sat beside her and begin to tell her story. She was just beginning her battle and had been very sick after receiving her first treatment last week. As she was talking, she laid her head against the chair, and I could see the pain and exhaustion in her eyes. It doesn't seem like that long ago, that we were in her shoes. Nervous, scarred, worried, sick, painful. As we are celebrating Mom's journey so far tonight, I ask that you say a special prayer for her. I can't remember her name, but I know that God knows her by name, as well as her every need.
Sarah Beth...her favorite nurse while in the hospital. She has one of the sweetest spirits.
Our favorite "radiation plant" nurse, Leisa
"Blue" was super excited for her too!
See ya later radiation plant!
This day couldn't have come any sooner!
Thank you all for the support that you have shown Mom. She's coming home later this week...I'm sooo excited I can hardly stand it!!!
xoxo,
